WELCOME TO HUNGER BUSTERS

FEEDING KIDS
FUELING
FUTURES

No child in Dallas should go hungry. However, 8 out of 10 Dallas students may not have access to a third meal.

In Dallas County, more than 118,000 of the children attending Dallas schools qualify for subsidized school breakfasts and/or lunches. All too often, these children go without dinner.

6th

Dallas County ranks sixth in the U.S. for the highest number of people living in food-insecure households.

3,500

Every school day, Hunger Busters provides nearly 3,500 dinners to children in Dallas who don’t have access to a third meal at home.

HUNGER BUSTERS 2024 GOAL

$1,000,000

The need is ongoing, and this year's goal is larger than ever. $1,000,000 would help us to reach over 689,600 kids.

A Hub for REAL Community Impact in Dallas

Inspired by the symbolism of a planted seed that is nurtured and grown, the HKS team worked with Hunger Busters to create a vibrant, sustainable food preparation facility that will eventually help nurture, grow and sustain thousands of Dallas youngsters.

We provide meals daily to Dallas students through our signature “Feed the Need” afterschool program.

When a growing child is adequately nourished, their physical and psychological health is enhanced - leading to a better quality of life and future opportunities

Can Change Lives.

Hunger Busters helps boost school attendance, test scores and classroom behavior. We solve a problem that when not addressed becomes a larger issue as school-aged children become adults. We function because of loyal volunteers who make the meals daily, as well as through private donations and corporate sponsorships.

Meals on a Mission

We are not a food bank, and we do not serve soon-to-be expired or damaged food. All of our meals are made daily and served fresh to the children. As the students dismiss for the day, teachers, volunteers and the school staff ensure they take home a quality meal that is not just tasty, but healthy!
